The most commonly used propane tank, the 20 lb tank is the standard size tank for barbecue grills, mosquito magnet, turkey fryer, small space heaters. However, the 20 lb tank can be used on several other propane applications. A 20 lb propane tank holds 4.5 gallons of propane and weighs 37 pounds full.
 
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ:
Your tank must be in good working condition and have the correct OPD valve in order for us to be able to take it as an exchange. Please see the pictures attached if you are unsure what this means. Thumbs up pic is the correct valve, thumbs down is incorrect. An OPd (overflow protection device) is a safety feature that now comes standard on all new tanks. In this case, we will still take your tank but there will be a $25 service fee if your tank does not have the OPD valve.

Simply place your empty 20lb tank in a convenient location for the driver to replace with a fully refurbished and filled 20 lb cylinder. Be sure to add the location of your tank in the comment section provided (eg. front door, side door, or outside your garage.) As well as the phone number they can best reach you on.
Safety tip: Never store propane tanks inside a closed building or shed. The Handy Gas Man will not be held liable for the propane tanks before or after the exchange.

You do not have to be home. We will exchange your propane tank and leave your new tank at the same location designated on your order form. (eg. front door, side door, or outside your garage.) Please be sure to put your empty tank there before our driver arrives. It is a good idea to put your tank at the chosen location first thing on the morning of delivery day.
 
It can take 24 to 48 hours for your new tank to be delivered, usually earlier depending on the volume of orders we receive at that time. You can request a call before delivery (in the comments section) if you prefer not to leave your tank out that long.

If our delivery person cannot find your empty tank, he or she will attempt to contact you by knocking on the door or calling the phone number you provided. If we cannot reach anyone, the order will be canceled and no fresh tank will be left and you may be charged a cancellation fee of $10.

At this time, we are focusing our service on bringing a fresh tank straight to your home. We may add additional services later, but we do not offer connection or disconnection services with this service currently.
